Writing a Task Statement
A Task Statement is a statement that outlines steps of activities that should be completed in order to achieve a goal. The task is how specific outcomes will be reached.

A Task is the lowest level of role clarity and outlines the activities that need to be completed in order to achieve a goal.

Example 1
Good: Create a customer survey with 10 questions to measure the customer’s overall satisfaction and, specifically, store layout, experiences in returning merchandise, service, checkout time, and the quality, selection, and value of merchandise.
Bad: Make a customer service survey.
Example 2
Good: Greet each customer by asking if you may be of help by providing information and assistance. (If so, fulfill the request. If not, tell the customer where you will be if needed.)
Bad:Talk to each customer who comes into our stores.
Example 3
Good: Validate associates’ credit application process, scheduling time for operations manager to spend with each associate.
Bad: Spent time with each associate.
